SFS ArtFest 2019
Introduced six years ago, the SFS ArtFest invites local artists to exhibit their diverse artwork and allows community members to participate in an evening dedicated to celebrating the arts. The event includes a myriad of art showcases, a variety of entertainment, an array of artisans, and various foods. The ArtFest has become a staple event for all local communities. In fact, in 2015, the SFS ArtFest was presented the Award of Excellence in the category "Creating Community for Arts and Cultural Services" by the California Parks & Recreation Society. This annual event draws more artists and more attendees every year. In 2017, over 3,700 people attended the SFS ArtFest and 325 artists displayed over 640 pieces of artwork. Additionally, the City has been able to feature well- known artists and recognize them for their contributions in the arts. This year, the event will continue to display wonderful art, have a full schedule of performance art, and a children's art project area.
SFS ArtFest 2019's "Collector's Night"
Thursday, May 2nd 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Everyone's invited to come out to Collector's Night - both the business community and art collectors alike. This provides artists with another opportunity to exhibit artwork for an additional day! Light entertainment and performances will illuminate the evening as all art entries are being judged.
SFS ArtFest 2019 Festival
Friday, May 3rd 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Free admission! Be a guest, exhibitor, and/or a vendor. This event will showcase a variety of artisans, musical performances, film screenings, competitions, local artists, food vendors, and an overall highlight on different types of art mediums. We are also including an art exhibit from middle school and high school artists, a bookmark competition, art workshops, and silent auction. As in past years, food and drinks will also be available for purchase. We anticipate the 2019 ArtFest to attract close to 4,000 people, including artists. As we get closer to the Art Festival date, you will find more information, marketing, and a preview of the participating artists, vendors, and sponsors.
Silent Auction
There will be more than 30 original pieces of artwork created by established and emerging artists as well as art related items to place bids on for the Silent Auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit all of the Heritage Arts Advisory Committee programs which will provide art education programs to under-served youth in the community.
Paint & Sip
Experience creative empowerment with step-by-step instruction led by passionate artists. All supplies are provided and you keep your masterpiece to remember an evening of inspiration! We will have creative renderings of selected styles and images designed exclusively for this festival.
"Artifact" Trompe l'oeil Competition
Artists will be performing during a live, juried installation competition. The depth inside of each mind will be extending visual complexity outward like chameleons woven through tapestries of enchanting dimensions. There will be a special "Open Call to tromp l'oeil artists to submit their work (i.e. a vivid sketch, detailed descriptive statement, etc.). Five artists will be selected to create the moving art escavation. Selected artists will be creating their work in designated 10x10 booth areas throughout the festival grounds. The jury will look for theme, creativity, and skill. Photographers will be invited to step into each artist's light while the jury tallies the scores.
Awards: 1st Place * 2nd Place * 3rd Place
"Absorption" Filmmaker Competition
This year's 2019 Film Independent "Absorption" is an engagement of visionary narrative. This Film Festival Installation component will guarantee a bigger participation in connecting and networking with up-and-coming filmmakers and artists in local and surrounding communities in the industry. After each film presentation, a panel featuring directors, filmmakers, actors, producers, composers, and writers will go into immersive discussion. The contest is open to filmmakers at large. It is free to enter and there are no restrictions on style or genre. You can be living anywhere on planet earth to enter the competition. A special screening will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 during SFS ArtFest of selected films.
